TURLEY, JANICE POLLARD - age 80, of Jefferson City, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. She was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints where she devoted much of her time. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Philip Pollard; parents, Ben and Burnettie Byrd Phillips; sister, Reba Phillips Jarnigan; brothers, Arvil and Walter Phillips. She is survived by her second husband, Andy Turley; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Kim Beard Pollard; sister, Telitha Phillips; brothers, Dana and Eunice Phillips; grandchildren, Chelsea and Alex Pollard, who were the love of her life. Being a part of a large family, Janice leaves behind nieces, nephews and cousins who were loved dearly. Her extended Turley family was also very special to her. She touched many lived and her smile and laughter will be missed. Janice loved to paint and made many paintings that will be cherished. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 PM Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM at the church at 6301 Hiawatha Rd., Morristown, TN, 37814. Interment, Saturday, 11:00 Am in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Jefferson City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Directions to the church: from Knoxville, take Hwy 11E East toward Morristown. Continue through Jefferson City. At the intersection of 11E and Hwy 160, at the traffic light, turn left (Corners of Regions Bank and McDonalds) onto Collinson Ford Rd. Travel approximately 1.6 miles.
