YAKLIN, Willie Mae (Billie) - Of New Lothrop, age 84, died Wednesday evening, August 23, 2000 at Saginaw Geriatrics Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, August 28, 2000 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly officiating. Burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning on Saturday from 4 to 9 PM and on Sunday the family will be present at the funeral home from 2 to 9 PM. Scripture service will be 7 PM Sunday, Knights of Columbus Rosary 8 PM Sunday. She was born in Murphy, North Carolina on May 13, 1916, the daughter of David and Carrie (Lincolnfelt) Disspain. She was raised in Maryville, TN and then moved to Michigan at age 15. Billie married Otto Yaklin on June 12, 1937. He preceded her on June 13, 1983. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society for many years. She was a homemaker and also had worked for Owosso Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. Surviving are 5 children, Colonel Robert O. Yaklin (Ret.) of New Lothrop, Marie Davis of Saginaw, Betty and Don Hemker of Burt, Morey and Verna Yaklin of Commerce Twp., Lorraine (Lori) and Mike Moore of Bay City; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Dorothy Crabtree, Alma Morton, Evelyn and Gene Lawson, Bernice Floyd; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 granddaughter, Laura Lynn Yaklin and 5 brothers, Tom, Ed, Elmer, Colonel and Roy. Memorials are suggested to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
