EDNA GRACE MONROE - age 94, of Luttrell, passed away 4:50 am Tuesday, February 12, 2002, at Sunbridge Care of Maynardville. Member of First Baptist Church of Maynardville. She was preceded in death by parents, Elvin and Lennie (Carr) Monroe; sister, Edith Smith; husband Walter Sharp; son, Richard Sharp; daughters, Lillian Sharp and Judy Walker. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Curly Bates of Corryton; daughter, Mary E. Hill of Luttrell; son, John Sharp of Houston, Texas; son-in-law, Charles Walker of White Pine; grandsons, Mark and Dean Hill of Luttrell and Chris Sharp of Knoxville, Monty Bates of Atlanta, Georgia, Ivan and Brad Walker of White Pine; granddaughters, Renee Everette of Townsend and Nikki Sharp of Knoxville, and Lindsey Sharp of Houston, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, John Elvin Monroe of Knoxville; sisters, Trula Lody of Maynardville, Susie Matthews of Sevierville, and Barbara Johnson of Luttrell, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to all the staff at Sunbridge Care. Funeral services 8 p.m. Friday, Cooke Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Walter Smith officiating, with music by Brenda and Cheree Coppock. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday, Sharp Cemetery, Luttrell-Corryton Road, Luttrell. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
