Herron, Laura Ruth Thomas – 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ Thursday, September 19, 2013. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her. She was a member of, attended faithfully and sought to serve the Lord not only in word but also in deed at Hines Valley Baptist church for more than 50 years where so many who've come and gone were touched by her gentle, sweet loving spirit. She gave never expecting anything in return, loved unconditionally without judgment always, offering friendly words of encouragement along with her warm beautiful smile. She was preceded in death by husband of 44 years, Douglas Herron; parents, Robert and Annie Thomas; brothers, Earl (Francis) Thomas, L.J. (Tootsie) Thomas, Robert Thomas, Jr., Elmer (Fay) Thomas. She is survived by children; Douglas "Buster" (Wendy) Herron, Jr.; Jeannie (Pete) Cordell, Teresa (Mark) Burton, Donna (David) Franklin; grandchildren, Matthew (Candy) Cordell, Brandi (Joe) London, Shaun (Courtnee) Herron, Ashley Franklin, Tim and Andy Burton; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Colton, Kaden, Liam, Greyson; step-grandchildren, Ava, Bryce, Sef, Haley; sister-in-law, Cleo Thomas; daughter (by heart), Darlene Townsend; special friends, Marie, Janie, Trula, Polly, Pat, Louise, Reba; and all her loving church family.
