GREEN, MELVIN - age 63, of Snapps Ferry Road, Afton; formerly of the Ottway Community passed away at his residence on August 28, 2009. He was employed by Greene County Schools, previously owned Baileyton Restaurant and Green's Grocery on the Horton Highway and was veteran of the Vietnam War. He is preceded In death by his mother, Viola Green; brothers, Danny Green and Sam Green; and sister, Polly Herron Survived by wife of 41 years, Pat Green; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Scott and Carrie Green of West Point, IA, Eddie Wolfenbarger of Knoxville, TN, Wesley and Regina Wolfenbarger of Union County , TN; 1 daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Brad Smith of Oliver Springs, TN; grandchildren, Tate and Shelby Green, Heath and Brooklyn Smith , Shawntay Watson and Ashley Wolfenbarger; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Nancy Green, Lenoir City, Paul and Mae Green, Riceville, TN, Buster and Sandy Green, Charleston, SC; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Grigsby, Claxton, TN. At Mr. Green's request, his body was cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to Smoky Mountain Hospice, 1117 Tusculum Blvd., Greeneville, TN 37745.
