TAYLOR, JAMES C. - 82, of Johnson City, TN, formerly of 11053 Roane Drive, Knoxville, TN, and most recently a resident of Asbury, Inc 105 West Myrtle Avenue, Johnson City, TN, passed away March 19 at the nursing care facility after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's. Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Walter and Lunar Melton Taylor. "JC" served in the Navy during World War II and retired from Martin Marietta with 35 years of service. JC was a very active member of Concord United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, and attended Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City, Tennessee, until illness did not allow him to do so. James was preceded in death by his wife, Polly L. Taylor, and brothers, Clifford Taylor, Hugh Taylor, and Walt Taylor and sisters, Edith Becham, Mayble Bendle, Maxine Henderson, and Irene Wolfenbarger. Mr. Taylor is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Patricia Taylor of Johnson City, TN; his step-son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Barbara Hartsell of Knoxville, TN; and his grandchildren, Brittany Taylor, Zachary Taylor and Carrie Taylor of Johnson City, TN; and Wes Hartsell, Brent Hartsell, Brandi Mee, and Cara Beth Cate all of Knoxville, TN. He is survived by four great-grandchildren, Katie Mee, Logan Mee, Emma Brown, and Halle Hartsell of Knoxville, TN. Interment for Mr. Taylor will be at Highlands West Cemetery at 1 pm on Monday, March 22. A Celebration of Resurrection service will be held at Concord United Methodist Church, 11020 Roane Drive, Knoxville, TN, at 2:30 pm on Monday, March 22. The family will receive friends in the Narthex of the Church following the Celebration of Resurrection service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Ramp Fund of Munsey Memorial UMC, 201 East Market Street, Johnson City, TN, 37601 or to the building fund of Concord United Methodist Church, Knoxville, TN.
