Harold Holder, age 82 of Cosby passed away Friday, March 30, 2007 in Newport Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his son, Harold Holder Jr.; parents, Carl and Maggie Holder; brothers, Carl Holder Jr., and Kenneth Holder; sister, Ella Mae Moore; granddaughter, Jamie Wood. He is survived by his sons, Yandle Holder and Jason Holder both of Cosby; daughters, Carolyn Wood of Newport, Barbara Tapp, Sandra Burrell both of South Carolina, Angie Holder and Maggie Holder both of Cosby; brother, David Holder of South Carolina; sisters, Florence Ball of Morristown, Lela Newman of South Carolina, Nola Ball of Cosby, Emma Deane Norris and Deloris Black both of South Carolina; eleven grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Holder Cemetery. L/Cpl Charles C. Roberts DAV Chapter 102 will conduct military honors. The family will received friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
