GEORGE, MARITA SMITH - age 79, of Loudon, TN born March 2, 1932 went on to be with the Lord forevermore on Thursday night April 27, 2011 with her beloved husband, Bud, of 58 years by her side. She was a loving wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She loved to work in and out of the church in spreading the Good News about Jesus and was secretary to former Pastor Charles Earl for a number of years at First Baptist Church of Loudon. Marita loved singing in the church choir with her beautiful voice. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. As a Girl Scout Troop Leader, she taught and directed young girls for over 15 years. Growing flowers was a very special hobby of hers, and was always arranging them and giving gift bouquets to folks. She leaves behind her loving husband, Bud and five children; Beth Hedley and husband, Bill, Buddy George, Barry George, Becky Dayton and husband, Mike, Jenny Stafford and husband Charles; grandchildren, Will, Mark, Ben, and John Hedley, Stephen, Daniel, and Allison Dayton, Tyler, Aubrey, and Andrew Ross Stafford, Sean and Matthew George, and Amy Lee; great-grandson, Dallon Dayton Shockley; sister, Pat Kinser of Lake City, TN; first cousin, Jeanie "Nora" Wiser. Nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10 -11:30 am Saturday at the Blairland Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 11:30 am. With Rev. Jon Henson and Rev. Tim Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Roberson Cemetery. Pallbearers include all ten of her grandsons. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Blairland Baptist Church, Mission Fund, 730 Steekee St, Loudon, TN 37774.
