GEORGE, MCCONA, (RED) age 96 of Loudon, passed away November 24, 2008. Member of Hayes Memorial Presbyterian Church, he was a supervisor at Bacon Hosiery Mill for many years. Preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Cora Shell George and daughter, Barbara Ann George. He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Mary King George; son and daughter-in-law, Bud and Marita George; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Beth and Bill Hedley of Knoxville and their sons, Will, Mark, Ben and John; Buddy George, Jr. of Athens and his daughter, Amy, Barry George of Maryville and his sons Sean and Matthew, Becky and Mike Dayton of Halls and their children, Stephen, Daniel and Allison, Jenny and Charles Stafford of Cleveland and their children, Tyler, Aubrey and Andrew Ross; sister, Hazel "Bill" Cissna of Knoxville. Relatives and friends will meet 11 am Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Fountain City for a Home Going Celebration with Rev. Allan Payne officiating. Mynatt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
