CISSNA, GEORGE W. - age 82, of Knoxville and formerly of Dade City, FL, passed away, Friday, March 11, 2005. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII: Sicily, Okinawa and Marseille, a dairy farmer and employee of Miller's Department Store and former owner of Industrial Battery. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a former deacon of Salem Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Sarah Cissna, grandson Matthew Cissna, brothers Evans, Joe and Harold Cissna. Survivors: wife, Hazel George Cissna daughter and son in law, Sarah Blaine and Terry Leppanen son and daughter in law, Mac and Sonya Cissna grandsons, Casey and Cody Leppanen, Adam Cissna and fiancé Mary Beth Horton, Micah Cissna, sister, Clara Mathes brothers, Charles and Glenn Cissna and several loving nieces and nephews. He found the most comfort in reading his favorite passage the 23rd. Psalm. Family and friends will meet, 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, Halls Memory Gardens for a graveside service at 11:00 a.m., Dr. Bruce Marston officiating.
