He retired from Miller's Dept. Store (Allied Stores) as Purchasing Agent after almost 35 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Maryville, TN. Survivors include: Wife of 32 years, Wilma Hall Patterson; Son, Patrick Hyder Patterson (Michael Gorman); Daughters, Carole Knight (Michael) and Jane Hobbs (Robert J.); Stepson, Dan Hudgins (Linda Klag); Four Grandchildren; Thaddeus Knight (Lauren Reed), John Knight, Kate Hobbs (Anna Paskausky), and Jenna Hobbs; several brothers and sisters also survive. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, June 13, 2014 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 PM with Reverends Brenda and Larry Carroll officiating.
