Resided in Alpharetta, GA
Kathy Bailey Schlacht, age 58, born in Dandridge, TN, raise in Knoxville, TN and a resident of Alpharetta, GA since 1998, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2015. Kathy was a loving wife, daughter and friend. She spent much of her career in banking and finance having worked for the FDIC, Fleet Finanace, HomeBanc and most recently SunTrust Bank. Kathy loved to travel, shop and decorate. She had decorations for every holiday and made every occasion special. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her knew the passion, love and joy with which she lived her life. She especially loved Christmas, glitter, confetti and "bling"; everything that sparkled, shined and brought smiles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glynn Bailer; and brother, Jeffrey Bailey of Knoxville.
Kathy is survived by her husband, George R. Schlacht; mother, Otella "Tillie" Whaley; brother, William Whaley; nieces, Jenna and McKenzie Whaley; step-children, Jennifer Schlacht, and David Schlacht and his wife, Kristi. We will be forever grateful for her kindness, love and laughter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Kathy.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 27th at Beech Springs Cemetery with Rev. Ken May officiating. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
