ASKEW, BRADLEY KEVIN - age 22, a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, was taken home to be with his savior on June 4, 2004. He was born and raised in Newport, TN and graduated from Calvary Baptist Tabernacle School. Brad was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Tabernacle where he served as church pianist for several years. He was currently a student at Crown College of the Bible being a second semester Junior majoring in secondary education with a proficiency in music. He was an active member of the Temple Baptist Church in Powell, TN. Brad is preceded in death by his father, Freddie Dane Askew, and sister Bridgette Anetra Phillips. He is survived by his mother and step-father Larry and Shelia Aikens of Loganville, GA brother and sister-in-law Brian and Brooke Askew of Newport, TN step-sister and husband Lauren and Adrian Lawler of Bellow Falls, VT step-brother and wife Larry Jr. and Holley of Hagerstown, MD step-sister and husband Mary Lin and Mark Chapman of Hagerstown, MD step-sisters Martye and Christen Aikens and step-brother Jonathan Aikens of Loganville, GA grandparents Ina and the late Tillman Holt of Newport, TN, Charles and Ruby Askew of Parrottsville, TN nephews, Logan West of Dandridge, TN, and Hunter Phillips of Del Rio a host of special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. As the Lord would lead, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crown College, P.O. Box 2000, Powell, TN 37849. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 14th, at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. Family time will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 4:00 to 7:30 prior to the service. Graveside service will be on Tuesday, June 15th, at 11:00 am at Union Cemetery. Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
