He is survived by his wife, Sheila H. Askew, of Newport; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Brooke Askew; son, Bradley Askew, all of Newport; daughter and son-in-law, Bridgette and Barry Phillips of Del Rio; grandchildren, Freddie Logan West and Hunter Max Phillips, both of Del Rio; parents, Charles and Ruth Askew of Parrottsville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Ray and Eva Askew of Sevierville; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Otha Rolen of Parrottsville; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Caldwell of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Manes Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Mason Lee, Larry Wells and Jerry Williams officiating. The burial will be 12 noon Wednesday in Union Cemetery. Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
