Ronald Earl Winkle, age 80, of Newport, passed away Monday, December 4, 2006, at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a business owner and operator of Ideal T.V. Services in Greeneville for many years. He was a member of the NRA and an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Nellie Winkle, of Greeneville; also his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Alma Winkle, of Newport; son, Ron Winkle Jr., of Knoxville; daughters, Shirley Rhoda and husband, David, of Greeneville, and Patricia Tipton, of Jonesborough; step-children, William Taylor Jr., Sandra Valentine, David Taylor, Gary Taylor, Don Taylor, and Melinda Taylor; grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Winkle, of Portland, Tenn.; step-grandchildren, Rebecca Hansel, of Jonesborough, and Randy Tipton, of Minneapolis, Minn.; also numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2006, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at Manes Funeral Home.
