Elkins, Harvey G., age 82, of Knoxville, passed from this life into the presence of the Lord at 12:30 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2010. He was preceded in death by wife Loraine, and daughter Judy Elkins, his parents, Rev. J.E. and Jessie Elkins, brothers Ed and Chad, sister Geraldine Moore. He survived by his children: Carolyn (Alan) Dunsmore, Dianna (Isamu) Matsumoto, Ronald (Barbara)Elkins, Susan (Dennis) Kiser, Scott (Kathy) Elkins, Bryan Elkins (Debbie), grandchildren Todd, Tyler, John, Elizabeth, Philip, David, Amanda, Jason, Ashley, Kindell, Kristy, Molleigh, Amy, 16 great-grandchildren, brother Demi Elkins and sister-in-laws Wanda, Aline, and Pauline, by Jessie Mitchell Elkins, by nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Mynatt’s Funeral Home in Halls 6:30-8:00 p.m. with Memorial Service immediately following on Monday, April 26.Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Norris Freeway for interment at 11:00 a.m. Special thanks to Elmcroft of Halls, Parkview Independent Living facility Ftn. City, and Hospice of Halls, whose staffs were most supportive. Harvey served in the Navy during WW II and was a mason.
