David W. Arwood age 37 of Maryville, TN passed away, Saturday, August 15, 2009 at home following a five year battle with cancer. He was a fighter and never gave up. He was one of the kindest people that you would ever be lucky enough to meet, would give you anything that he had. He had a heart of gold, a really great guy. Most of his friends called him Arwood instead of David. His radiation treatments limited his ability to eat, but he got such a pleasure watching others enjoy a good meal. He was unselfish to the end. He has gone home to be with the Lord, and is feeling no more pain or sorrow. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by, brother, John Arwood; grandparents, Condas P. and Ruth Arwood; grandfather, Edwin C. Nichols; great-grandparents, Oran and Jamie Acuff. Survived by father, C.D. and Beverly Arwood; mother, Barbara and OB Hale; grandmother, Opal Nichols; sister, Linda Kyte and husband Steve; niece, Selena Stout and husband John; great-nephew, Aaron Stout; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special thanks to all the providers and staff of the Oncology Team at Blount Memorial Hospital, that treated him so kindly, he loved you all. Without your help we don’t think he could have made it this long, Thank You. The family wishes to thank you for all your support during his illness. Memorial service 7:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home.
