Resided in Pigeon Forge, TN
Melena Elaine Brackins, age 41 of Pigeon Forge went to sleep and woke up with Jesus Sunday January 1, 2017.
She was a first grade teacher at Northview Primary School, and was the treasurer for the Sevier County Education Association. Melena was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville, and was active in camp read-a-lot, vacation bible school, and loved her Sunday School Class, "Cross Talk".
She was welcomed in heaven by her grandfather, J.B. Brackins and her Bottsey, Nina McCarter Myers.
Survivors:
Parents: Jimmy and Jane Brackins
Brother: Thomas Brackins, and his children, Keeley, Kendall, Kayla, and Khloe
Grandmother: Lorena Brackins
Grandfather: Mell Myers
Aunts and Uncles: Barbra and Jack Anthony, David and Esmy Myers, Sonya and Buster Brackins, Janie and Robert Newcomb, Carl and Kathy Flynn

The family will receive friends from 4-6:45PM Thursday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7PM with Rev. Scott Carter officiating.
