Genevieve Ball, age 66, of Lorain, OH died Thursday, September 2, 2004 in the Medical Intensive Care Unit of Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, West, Lorain, OH following injuries which were sustained after an automobile accident on August 4, 2004.
She was born on September 20, 1937 in Pikeville, KY. Mrs. Ball came to Lorain 46 years ago from Pikeville. She graduated from Betty Lane High School in Pikeville. Mrs. Ball was employed for 14 years at the former Freezer Queen Pizza, Elyria, OH before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Christian Life Church, Lorain.
Mrs. Ball loved being with her family and friends, going to garage sales, cooking and planting flowers.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Glen G. Ball; her daughters, Creta Costello of Lorain, Kathy Ziccafoose of Arizona, Glesma Davis of Newport, TN, and Debbie Ball of Lorain; her sons, Terry Ball of Newport, TN, Greg Ball of Sheffield Village, OH, and Gary Ball of Louisville, KY; her sisters, Josephine Frasure and Linda Kay Cradlin, both of Pikeville, KY; her brothers, Morris Newsome, Icess Newsome, and Greley Newsome, all of Pikeville, KY and Lennis Newsome of Prestonburg, KY; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Gayle Hicks; her brothers, Allfred Newsome, R.S. Newsome, and Rolofo Newsome; and her parents, Robert and Effie (Nee: Hall) Newsome.
Friends were received Friday, September 3, 2004 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Church on the North Coast, 4125 Leavitt Road, Lorain, OH 44053. Funeral services were Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the church with the Reverend Mr. Wallace Justice, pastor of the Christian Life Church and the Reverend Mr. Louis Kayatin, pastor of The Church on the North Coast officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, OH.
The Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, OH 44052 handled the arrangements.
