Edna Dean White Fancher passed on to Glory February 4, 2013. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Eben Fancher; mother, Katherine Woody Kyker; father and step-mother, Francis Marion White, Sr.and Myrtle; sister, Ada White Asher; brother Francis Marion White, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Ray Fancher, Terry (Beth) Fancher, Jeff Fancher, all of Newport & Houston (Cathy) Fancher of Knoxville. She was especially proud of all her grandchildren, Josh (Valerie) Fancher, Rayanne (Mike) Gregory, Malerie Fancher, Megan Fine, Murphy and Morgan Fancher, Hayden, Ethan & Cameron Fancher; great-grandchildren, Steele Fancher, Grayson & Graham Gregory and Colin Stepp. She is also survived by her sisters, Beverly Coakley, Newport; Peggy Burnett, Bean Station; Pat Seehorn, Garland, TX; Betty Pace, Knoxville; brother, Jack (Clara) Reynolds, Bybee; sister-in-law, Dorothy White, White Pine; aunt, Mary V. Phillips, Newport, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special people in her life; Brenda Fancher, Rita Messer, Peachy & Judy Layman, and Robbin Coakley Dan Burnett, Jane Weems, Michael Massengill, the Kisabeth Family, Bill and Beverly Chambers and members of the “Chicken Biscuit Club.” Special thanks to Elexis Smith, the staff at Wellington Place of Newport, the staff of Newport Health & Rehabilitation, especially Chad Norton, Dr. Thomas Conway, Kim Thomas, N.P., and Mona Sutton. Dean was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church, Newport. She loved her church family dearly, especially the members of the Frankie Russell Circle. She was a charter member of the Heartease Garden Club, having achieved over 50 years of perfect attendance. She loved flowers and had a special gift when it came to their care. She will be remembered as a kind, caring, and generous neighbor and friend to all who were blessed to call her friend. She always had kind words to all people who came into contact with her. Her motherly instincts not only cared for her husband & sons, but extended out to her sisters, brothers, grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins. The Fancher boys were blessed to have Gene & Dean Fancher for parents. Thanks to all who have extended kind words, prayers and help for the past 4 years. Her church and her family were the main focus of her life. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, Newport. Friends will be received from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm prior to services Thursday, with Rev. Marta Cogburn & Rev. Rick Spell Officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 8, 2013 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
