Mary Jo Arrington Greene, age 74, of the Ravens Branch Community, passed away, Friday, July 24, 2009. She was a devoted Christian and attended the Church of Christ at Ravens Branch. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelse and Bertha Arrington; brothers, Hugo, Esley and Kelse Jr. Arrington; sisters, Carrine Hall, Ruth Morrow, Joyce Arrington, Clara Lee Ball, Rose Wilson and Patricia Arrington. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry E. Greene; children, Anthony Greene and wife Gladys of Newport, Kaye Gilbert and husband, Bobby of Greeneville, TN, Rex Greene, Del Rio, TN, Diane Greene, Greeneville, TN, Carrie Johnson and husband, David, Greeneville, TN, Luciana Atkins and husband, Benny, of Sevierville, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Gilbert, Christy Jo Jennings and husband, Jeffery, Daniel Greene, Jacob Greene, Chandler Atkins, Beverly Atkins, Nathanael Johnson and Caleb Johnson; great granddaughter, Alyssa Gilbert Jennings; and special daughter, Becky Self; sisters, Frankie Kelley, Virginia Beach, VA, Trudy Shelton, Hartford, TN, Barbara Turner, Del Rio, TN, Lois Presnell, Newport, TN, Cennie Caldwell, Newport, TN, and Judy Arrington Spoon, Newport, TN; and special friend, Betty Jo Frisbee, Del Rio, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Monday July 27, 2009 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Tommy Golmon and Minister Timothy Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Greene Family Cemetery at Ravens Branch. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Manes Funeral Home.
