Robert Dion Massengale, 33, of Clinton, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at his residence. He was born Oct. 18, 1969, in Anderson County. He was a member of Big Valley Open Door Assembly of God in Andersonville. He had worked as a laborer for Carter Construction Company. Survivors include his mother, Wanda Trowbridge Massengale and her special friend, Bill Province of Clinton; his father, Leon Massengale of Clinton; a special aunt and uncle, Betty and Dennis Byrd of Clinton; aunts and uncles, James and Pat Trowbridge of Clinton, Shirley and Johnny Walker of Norris, Betty and Russ Bolton of Titusville, Fla., Hazel and Gene Smothers of Pensacola, Fla., Nancy and Al Frisenda of Orlando, Fla., Edna and Bill Lewallen of Lake City and several cousins and friends. A graveside service was to held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, at Anderson Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Roger Carter officiating. The family requests that any memorials be made in the form of donations to Big Valley Open Door Church, 4846 Andersonville Highway, Andersonville, TN, 37705.
