Horace “Whitey” E. Yeaton, age 87, of Maryville, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at his home. He was born August 27, 1919 in Holyoke, Massachusetts and grew up in Newport, Rhode Island. He received his B.A. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Parks Air College at the St. Louis University. On December 8, 1941 he was drafted into the Army Air Corp. He attended the Maryville Friends Church and was retired from McDonald-Douglas Aircraft Manufacturing after 30 years of service. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his Hawaiian shirts and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Virginia Matthews Yeaton and second wife, Wini Bovard Yeaton; He is survived by his wife, Gladys Russell Yeaton; Children and their spouses, Kenneth and Marilyn Yeaton of Portland, Oregon, Harold and Judy Yeaton of Mission Viejo, California, Robert and Cheri Yeaton of Leavenworth, Kansas, Harvey and Debbie Yeaton of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jeannette and Ron Hamby of Maryville, Daphne and Bobby Quesenberry also of Maryville; Grandchildren, Shanon, Stacey, Sarah, Emily, Jackie, Rachel, Gideon, Jeannette, Colin, Tyler, Rutger, Gabrielle, Emily, and Samantha; Great Grandchildren, Troy and Jeremiah; Stepson, Scott & Jutta Bovard of Kent, Washington; Stepdaughter, Kim Bovard and Partner Lisa Lopar of Santa Rose, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maryville Friends Church, P.O. Box 4754, Maryville, TN. 37802. A memorial service will be held at Maryville Friends Church at 7:00 PM, Friday, August 17, 2007 with visitation from 6:30 until 7:00 PM.
