Kerr, 52, director of corporate purchasing for Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, died Friday in his Highland Park home after a long illness. Mr. Kerr was born in Tennessee. He was a first lieutenant in the Army's Field Artillery Center at Ft. Sill, Okla. He was a founder and member of the board of the Lake County Council Against Sexual Assault. In 1991, he received the United Way of Lake County's highest honor, the Chairman of the Board Award. He is survived by his wife, Holly; three sons, Steven, David and Patrick; and his mother, Imogene. Services were held Sunday in Maryville, Tenn.
