Kenneth was born March 11, 1936, and served in the U. S. Army. He was of the Baptist Faith and worked as a self-employed painter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam L. and Naomi Shields; brother-in-law, Holt Beals. Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, James L. “Luke” and Louise Shields, Robert R. “Bob” and Helen Shields, Ralph L. and Jo Ann Shields all of Maryville, Larry B. and Gladys Shields of Jacksonville, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce Faye and Dean Enos; sister, Barbara Sue Beals of Greenback; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Longmire officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service.
