NEWMAN, BETTY JANE (POOH) - of Knoxville passed away Saturday April 22, 2000 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Gwynn F. Newman; parents, Bertha Keys Waggnoner and Fate Waggoner; brother, Lee Waggoner; sisters, Inez Keck, Delphia Campbell, and Ora Nance. Survived by daughters and son in law, Sandy Linebaugh Beals and David Beals of Knoxville, Jerrie Linebaugh Taylor and devoted and loving son in law,Eddie Taylor of Oak Ridge; 4 grandchildren, Mika Lay, Eric Beals, Marcus Harrell, and Kyla Beals of Knoxville; 3 great granddaughters, Morgan and Madison Lay, and Gabriella Harrell; sisters, Bonnie James, and Mary Brock; brother in law, Bob Keck; several nieces and nephews; loving nurses, Laurie Roberts, and Patty Fuller; special thanks to Dr. Ted Stauings, and East Tenn. Baptist Hospice Staff. Funeral service 8 p.m. Monday Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel Chaplain Phillip A. Groose officiating.
