BROCK, MARY WAGGONER NELSON - of Halls, went to be with the Lord 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2002, at her home after a long illness surrounded by a host of loving family. She was born February 1, 1920, and was a member of Salem Baptist Church, but was unable to attend for many years. Mary was preceded in death by two husbands, Harley B. Nelson (1947), and Clay R. "Sleepy" Brock (1986); brother, Lee Waggoner; sisters, Ora Nance, Delphia Campbell, Inez Keck and Betty Newman. Left to mourn her passing, her only surviving sister, Bonnie James, and her four daughters and three sons-in-law, Margaret and Davey Julian of Knoxville, June and Neal Walker of Maynardville, Barbara Well of Maynardville, Carol and Charlie McGill of Six Mile, S.C.; 16 grandchildren, Stacie Beal, Leigh Ann Jones, Rhonda Sallings, Stephanie Kitts, Vicki Middleton, Eddie Stamps, Jeff Stamps, Teresa Lentz, Crystal Stooksbury, Karen Seckington, Angela Smith, Debbie Wright, Dena Williams, Donna Alter, Diane Murphree, Clay McGill; 28 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and two special people to the family, Greg Middleton and Joe Sallings. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Cemetery 9:45 for interment at 10 a.m. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
