RENFRO, J.V. age 89 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Member of Red House Baptist Church. Honorary Life Director of the Carriage Association of America, Four-in-Hand Club, Former Director of Tennessee Road Builders Association, world renown horseman, once owned a World Champion Walking Horse, Founder and Owner of Renfro Construction Company. Preceded in death by: father, Andrew Lefford Renfro; mother, Louella Jones Renfro; brothers, Robert, Ralph, A.L. and Wayne Renfro; sisters, Janice Cameron, Susan Nance, Gola Fennell, Georgia Davis and Jewell Fox; and son-in-law, Harold Hickman. Survivors include: wife, Roma Yankee Renfro; son, Robert V. Renfro and Jill Douglas; stepson, Jason Weaver; daughters, Patsy Akans and husband George, Juanita Hickman, and Brenda Cameron and husband Van; mother of his children, Pearl W. Renfro; grandchildren, Jeff Akans and wife Doris, Tracey Akans Johnson and husband David, Nikki Hickman, Jody Hickman and wife Deidre, Stephanie Renfro-Hackler and husband Earl, Jessica Cameron Hodges, Cale Renfro Cameron and wife Cindy, and Noel Weaver; great-grandchildren, Seth Hickman and Cameron Hodges; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 am Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home and proceed to Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a 12:00 pm entombment. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to: the Carriage Association of America, 3915 Jay Trump Road, Lexington, KY 40511. He will lie-in-state Wednesday beginning at 10:00 am.
