Kostas, 64, of 9918 Countryside Lane died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born July 18, 1939, in Jackson, Tenn., to Jimmie W. and Roxie G. Weaver Jackson, she married James M. Kostas on Aug. 30, 1957, in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Patti Thornton of Friendswood, Texas, and Sandra (and Michel) Sussman of Decatur, Ala.; one son, Michael of Edwards; three grandchildren; and one brother, James Jackson of Ridgecrest, Calif.; and three sisters, Mildred Sheffield of Clarksville, Ind., Elizabeth Echols of Oxon Hill, Md., and Brenda McCollum of East Peoria. She was a member of the Christian Women's Club of Peoria, Clubs at River City and a volunteer at Wildlife Prairie Park. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. The Rev. Timothy Bias will officiate. Cremation will be accorded and burial of ashes will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria at a later date. Memorials may be made to any charity. [S1] U. S.
