Bruce Burton Jenkins , age 66, of Newport, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Fort Sanders Select Specialty Hospital in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson and Rose Jenkins ; brothers, Ernest, C.L., Odeburn, Jack, Stanley, Weldon, and Joe Bob Jenkins , and Ivan Shults; and sisters, Marjorie York, Maggie Jenkins , and Tiny Sutton.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Jenkins , of Newport; son, Burton E. Jenkins , of Newport; sister, Aretha Barnhill, of NC; and grandchildren, Dustin Eugene Jenkins and Burton Phillip Jenkins , both of Newport.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Cleo Williamson and Rev. Robert Green officiating, with burial in the Shults Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Manes Funeral Home.
