He was a member of the Jenkins Chapel Methodist Church. A carpenter by trade, he retired from Rhyne Lumber Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy S. West; parents, John and Julia West; sister, Viola West, and half-brother, Ernest Butler. He is survived by his son, Wilbur West and wife, Brenda of Newport; special caregiver and friend, Ricki Jo Wines and her husband, Mike, and children, Makayla and Jerrica, all of Newport, and several nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Russell Holloway of Newport. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Riley Huffstetler officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday at Manes Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Russell Holloway, Jesse Sauceman, Larry Blazer, Charlie Seehorn, Lonnie Butler, and Jesse Denton. Manes, in charge.
