Charlotte Valentine, age 76, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2010 after a long illness. She was surrounded at home by family and friends throughout her illness. Charlotte was preceded in death by her son Wayne Lewis; brother, Joe Webb and parents, Sam and Jessie May Eldege. Charlotte is survived by and will be deeply missed by and endless list if caring people. These include her husband Newell Valentine; sister, Annah Webb, brothers, Jerry and Jay Eldege, grandchildren, Jason and Shelly Lewis and Chad and Marcie Fox; great-granddaughter, Tiffany Lewis; long time friends, Jeanette Ray, Nancy and Wayne Valentine, Bill and Leoma Shelton, and Elanor Jenkins; special caregivers, Carolyn Buckner, Bernice McMahan, Linda Owens and Betty Gentry. Granny will be missed but never forgotten by any of the family she has touched. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, October 24, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Blanchard and Chaplain Glenn Bradley and Bill Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. The family will receive from 6-8 pm Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Manes Funeral Home.
