He was preceded in death by his parents, Willberry and Ollie Valentine; brother, J.L. Valentine; and stepson, J.B. Bryant. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Bryant Valentine of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Kathy Holbert of Sevierville and Gary and Kim Valentine of Seymour; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Sam Brewer of Cosby; daughter, Treva Strickland of Nashville; stepson, Carter G. Bryant of Cosby; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Bobby and Emma Lou Harper of Newport, Haskell and Phyllis Bryant of Bybee, Phillip (Chip) and Linda Bryant of Newport, Tommy and Lois Bryant, and Timmy and Debbie Bryant, all of Newport; stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Laura (Tootie) and Warren Breeden, Betty and David Williams, and Sarah and Griffen Stuart, all of Cosby, Mary Helen and Shirl Ownby of Bogard, and Nancy and Dennis Johnson of Bogard; stepdaughter, Vivian (Bimbo) Bryant of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Newell and Charolette Valentine of Newport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanna and Lester Stuart of Newport, and Eleanor and Lonas Jenkins of Cosby; sisters, Vearl Valentine of Gatlinburg, and Edna and Geraldine Valentine, both of Cosby; 47 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Freeman and Rev. David (Sunshine) Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
