Audeane Lavelva Neas, age 85, of St. James Road, Greeneville, passed away Thursday evening, May 17, 2012, at her home. She was a housewife. Mrs. Neas was a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years and was a member of Lutheran Church Women. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 63 years Herbert Neas; three sons and daughters-in-law Lamar and Pam Neas, Lanny and Vickie Neas, and Kim and Teresa Neas of Greene County; five grandchildren Stena Meadows and spouse Robert, Callie Neas, Matthew Neas, Makayla Neas, and Mindy Neas, all of Greene County; great-granddaughter Emma Grace Audeane Meadows; brother and sister-in-law Milburn 'Pete' and Jane Bowers of Greene County; two sisters-in-law Betty Bowers of Virginia and Ina Pearl Wyatt of Newport; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends Dorothy Ottinger, Carolyn and Walter Renner, Mildred Allen, Lena Craddock, Janice Knipp, Cleo Holt, Kenan Wilhoit, Dale and Suzanne Neas, and all her friends of the St. James Community. She was the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Dorothy Savannah Neas Bowers and was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Astor Bowers and the Rev. Auburn Bowers. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at St. James Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Moore and Rev. Willis Bowers officiating. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow in St. James Memorial Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Billy Bowers, Kendall Bowers, L. C. Bowers, Steve Neas, Aaron Ottinger, Stanley Byerley, and Kenan Wilhoit. Members of St. James Lutheran Church and community will serve as honorary pallbearers.
