Mr. Aubrey Fred Nease, 82, of Parrottsville, passed away Tuesday, September 15.
He was retired from American Enka; a retired dairy farmer; former director of Cocke County Soil Conservation District; former member of the Farm Bureau; and a former Farmer of the Year.
He was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Fred Norman Nease; one infant grandson; and was joined in death by his sister-in-law, Iva Turner.
Survivors: wife, Mrs. Betty Lou Nease of the home; son, Barry Nease of Newport; daughter and son-in-law, Emma Lee and Steve Balch; and daughter-in-law, Jeanette Nease, all of Parrottsville; sisters, Ina Pearl Wyatt of Newport, Elnora Knipp of Johnson City and Irma Dean Neas of Greeneville; sister and brother-in-law, Hertha and John Duggins of Greeneville; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Audeanne Neas of Greeneville; grandchildren, Barry Nease Jr. and Leigh Anne Nease, both of Newport, John Nease of Cookeville, and Julie Balch of Parrottsville; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Kent and Sharon Nease of Parrottsville; great-grandson, Keary Aubrey Nease of Parrottsville; special daughter-in-law, Ina Nease of Newport; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
The funeral was 10 a.m. Friday, September 18, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. The body laid in state from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Pastor Claude Villemaire officiated. Burial was in Luther Memorial Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Costner-Maloy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
