William Mayford Webb , 74 , of Athens , died Sunday , Jan. 23 2011 , at Athens Regional Medical Center . A native of Blount County, and a resident of McMinn County for the past 14 years, he was a son of the late George and Audrey Gourley Webb , and was preceded in death by one brother, George Webb Jr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Barbara Cunningham Webb of Athens ; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Greta and Kristopher King of Riceville, Cindy and Bill Turner of Knoxville, and Crystal and Butch Lester and Angie Tipton, all of Maryville; one son and daughter-in-law, Coy and Kathy Webb of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one brother, Carlos Webb of Knoxville; and two sisters, Joyce Terry of Alabama, and Patsy Wilhite of Maryville. Funeral services were 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Vincent officiating. Burial followed in Union Chapel Cemetery. The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens was in charge of arrangements. [S147] Find a Grave, (Memorial: 64649242).
