Powdersville Ruth Duckett Spearman, 87, of Oakmont East, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Greenville and formerly of Hood Road, she was the widow of Harold B. Spearman and daughter of the late Manson J. Duckett and Ethel Souther Hudson. She was a homemaker and the last surviving charter member of the Laurens Road GardenSpearman Club, a member of the Christian Wom en's Club and a for mer member of the Greenville Lions Club Auxiliary. A charter member of Eastlan Baptist Church, she re mained active in all phases of church work as long as her health permitted.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Bill Garwood of Hilton and Brenda and Ben Dawkins of Seneca two sons and daughters-in-law, Norville B. and Margaret Spearman of Clemson and Ret. Col. Ronald K. and Anne Spearman of Anderson 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Eastlan Baptist Church with burial at Graceland Cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes.
