TAYLOR, WALTER M. - age 93 of Knoxville passed away Saturday May 30, 2009 at Hillcrest North. He was a charter member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Prueitt Taylor; sister, Elizabeth Ownby; brother-in-law, Leo Ownby and brother-in-law, Glenn Irwin. Survivors are sons, Sidney Taylor and his wife Karen of Knoxville and Gregory Taylor and his wife Angela, of Knoxville; grandchildren, Cynthia Iris Taylor, Elizabeth Rachel Taylor, Geoffry Alan Taylor; great grandson, Taylor Kai Grimes; sister, Margaret Irwin, of Bristol, TN; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7 pm, Tuesday June 2, 2009, at Gentry-Griffey Chapel with Rev Harry Rehagen and Rev. Carl Oaks officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 4240 Plummer Dr. Knoxville, TN 37918. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Andrews Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
