( Barbiasz ) Kos, passed in January of this year. He is survived by three children: his daughter, Barbara A. Wise and her husband Richard of Grafton; two sons: John E. and his wife Maureen of Ware, Michael P. and his wife Marcia of Grafton; one sister, Susan Swirk of Bondsville (MA); five grandchildren: Sarah, Stephanie, Alissa, Lauren, Katy; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His parents, John and Catherine (Karz) Kos and four sisters passed before him. Mr. Kos was born November 2, 1914 in Bondsville, raised there and has lived 41 years in Grafton. He worked 40 years with Massachusetts Electric Co. beginning as a meter reader and retiring as a managerial staff assistant. He also worked in the construction The Quabbin Resevoir. Mr. Kos was a US Navy World War II Veteran serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Ed was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip's Church in Grafton maintaining its building and grounds for many years. He was a member of The American Legion in Palmer, The Grafton Land Trust and enjoyed gardening, woodworking and carving. Memorial donations may be made in his name to The Grafton Food Bank, 30 Providence Road, Grafton, MA 01519. Funeral Arrangements A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 15th at 10:30 am in St. Philips Roman Catholic Church, corner of Church & West Street, Grafton Center. He will then be laid to rest next to his wife with military honors in St. Philips Cemetery. There are no public calling hours.
