He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Narcissus Phillips; and two sisters, Opal Valentine and Beulah Raines. He is survived by his brothers, James Hal Phillips of Cosby; sisters, Fern McFalls of Cosby, Allene Messer of Cosby, Shirley Sweeten of Morristown, Iva Phillips of Newport, and Thelma Davis of White Pine; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Ransom Hall officiating. Burial was in the Phillips Cemetery. Manes Funeral Home was in charge. [S58] Marriage Certificate.
