HURST, JESSIE - age 91, of Knoxville, passed away 2:50 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Sunbridge Healthcare of Maynardville. She had been a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Maynardville since early childhood. Preceded in death by parents, Attie and Mary Hurst sister, Nora Buckner half-sisters, Retha Seymour, Lela Sharp and Stella Waggner brothers, Fred, Troy, L.J., Harlen and H.C. Hurst. Survivors: sister, Luella King of Kokomo, Indiana brother, Glen Hurst, also of Kokomo, Indiana sisters-in-law, Dessie Hurst and Cleo Hurst, both of Maynardville and Maggie Hurst of Knoxville several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Friday at Cooke Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Vaughn Richardson and Rev. Luther Cox officiating with music by Cedar Grove Singers. Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the main entrance of Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, for an 11:00 a.m. interment service. Pallbearers will be Deacons and members of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cooke Mortuary, Maynardville.
