HURST, DESSIE age 87 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2007 in Sweetwater, at the home of her daughter with whom she had made her home for the past five years. Dessie was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Maynardville for 72 years. Preceded in death by husband, Attie Harlen Hurst. She is survived by: her children, Helen (Earl) Pardue of Sweetwater, Shirley (Alco) Cox, and Wayne (Joyce) Hurst of Maynardville; three grandchildren, Charles Hurst, Bowling Green, KY, Beverly Carr, Seymour and Keith Cox, Maynardville; three great grandchildren, Haylea and Zachary Hurst and Maggie Carr; sister, Anita Troutman, Knoxville; brothers, Neal Sharp, Knoxville, Ralph Sharp, Maryville. Pallbearers: Charles and Zachery Hurst, Jimmy Carr, Earl Pardue, Alco and Keith Cox. The family will receive friends Friday at Cooke Mortuary from 6 pm to 8 pm with funeral service to follow with Reverend Luther Cox officiating.
