Shannon Roger Gentry, age 43 of Newport, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at his home. He was a member at Crossroads Tabernacle where he was a Youth Director, Sunday School Teacher, and Assistant Superintendent. Shannon was the most giving, loving, and gentle man. He loved telling God’s word and doing what he could to help others. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Ben Styles; grandparents, Carl and Alpha Gentry and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Ellison; aunts, Carloyn Potter and Belinda Ellison; uncles, Curtis Gentry, Paul Gentry, Harold Gentry, J.C. Potter, Ronald Ellison, RV and wife Annette Ellison, Bob Gray, and Charles Lane; cousins, Jodi Messer Green, Dan and Dusty Gray, Jody, Scotty, and Terri Ellison, and Belinda Ellison. Shannon is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Hannah Gentry; beloved daughter, Morgan Gentry; mother and father, Essie Gentry and Roger Gentry; father-in-law, Arlin Hannah; mother-in-law, Helen Hannah; brothers-in-law, Mickey (Trish) Hannah and Marty Hannah; nephews, Chad (Crystal) Hannah, Seth Hannah, and Heath Hannah; niece, Mandy Hannah Styles; great nephews and nieces, Jadon Hannah, Hayden Foster, and Allie Hartsell; brothers and sisters of Christ at Crossroads Tabernacle; special friends, Steven Guinn, Russell (Melanie) Holt, Mark (Rhonda) Maynard, P.K. Lee, Terry (Lisa) Black, Pedro Gudger, John Morgan, Jacks Fitness Center, Newport Fitness Center, all of his friends at Conagra, uncles, Don Ellison and Bobby Gentry; aunts, Edna and Jimmy Green, Annalene Gray, Julie Lane, Brenda Ellison, Janet Kyker, and Doris Ann Shell; special family friends, Elsie, Timmy, Kim Henderson; other special family, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday August 9, 2016 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm Tuesday prior to the services.
