DOYLE "TOMMY" BAXTER, age 71 of Dandridge, TN passed away Saturday morning, September 18, 2010 following a brief illness.
He was devoted Christian and enjoyed visiting area churches and hearing the preaching of the gospel. Tommy was a retired employee of Star Construction Co. Preceded in death by his father, Houston Baxter; daughter-in-law, Lyn Baxter; brother-in-law; Herbert Reneau; nephew, David Edmonds. Survived by wife, Alma Ruth (Simpson) Baxter; daughter, Jennifer Baxter King; sons, Robert (Sally) Baxter, Scott (Wanda) Baxter and Randale (Stacey) Baxter; sisters, Grace Reneau, Dorothy (James) Edmonds, and Linda (Charlie) Simpson; brother, Rev. Cecil Baxter; mother: Hesta Loveday Baxter; grandchildren, Crystal (Baxter) Allison, Nicole Baxter and Jessica Baxter and Emily King; great grandchildren, Levi Baxter and Teagan Allison; special friend, Stacie Allen, CNA at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be Monday, September 20, 2010, 8:00 pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Woodson, Rev. Ricky Clowers, and Rev. Sam Vet Parker officiating. Interment graveside services will be Tuesday, 11:00 am at Hills Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm prior to services at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE (865 397-2711)
