Dennis, 84, of Newport, passed away Monday at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He was a member of Stokely Chapel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel and Gypsy Dennis; his wife, Helen Dennis; and his son, Jimmy Dennis. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sherry Dennis of Newport; his sister, Mary Gorman of Nashville; his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Ginger Dennis of Johnson City; and special friends, Lena Schoolcraft and Robin Baxter, both of Cosby. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Hayes ofÞciating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Union Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
