SARRO, SHARON LYNN ROBERTS - age 50, of Knoxville passed away May 20, 2009, after courageously battling lung cancer. Sharon was born May 27, 1958, in Morocco, Africa. While her father was serving in the US Air Force, she and her family lived in Africa, Alabama, Alaska, Texas, Nebraska, Georgia, and then moved to Tennessee after his retirement. At age 13, Sharon accepted Jesus as her Savior and joined the church she attended in Alabama. In 1977, Sharon graduated from Doyle High School and in 1987 joined the US Army. While stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, Sharon met and married John Sarro. In 1994, she returned to Tennessee from Germany to care for her ailing father. At every business Sharon worked or owned, she was successful and was promoted many times. Sharon had a great love for her family and her pets, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, John Sarro, and her father, Allen Roberts. Survived by her devoted and loving mother and step-father, Barbara (Bobi) and Clyde Kelly; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Nina Roberts; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Russell Ramsey; special nephews, Kyle and Chad Ramsey and Clint Roberts; and aunts and uncles, Doris (Dori) and Frank Seif, Dale Duncan, and Kathy and Gary Mashburn. The family would like to thank Covenant Home Care for their love and care. Funeral services will be held at Tennessee Veterans' Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike, on Tuesday, May 26,at 11:30 AM with Rev. Dallas Harrell officiating. Burial will immediately follow with full military honors presented. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society .
