Large, Charles David – age 68 of New Market, beloved husband, father, grandpa, and brother, passed away suddenly on June 2, 2010. The Lord called a faithful servant home. David was predeceased by his parents James & Ruth Large. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of RSES. He was a member of First Baptist Church Dandridge. He was a plumber in the Knoxville area for over forty-five years and had many friends in the profession. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Martha “Sue” Large; daughter, Christie Gideon; and son-in-law, Robert Gideon, whom he loved as a child of his own. Also left behind, are the two joys of his life, grandson, Robert David Gideon; and granddaughter, Megan Nicole Gideon. He is survived by his sister, RuthAnne Hicks and her husband Sam; niece, Charlotte (Chris) Valluzzo (all of Blacksburg, VA); and nephew, Jim (Heather)Hicks (Chattanooga, TN); special aunts, Tommie Reagan and Hazel Oaks; brother and sister-in-laws, Kathryn and Remes Long, Grace and Jack Beckner, Evelyn Cate, and Nancy Grubaugh; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Martin, and Rev. Robert Brown officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 AM Monday at Pleasant Grove Piney Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
