Missing her as well are lifelong friends, John and Barbara Born, Ruth Norton, and Polly Large. She loved and was dearly loved by special grandson-in-law Jason Hellard, and future granddaughter-in-law and friend Elyse Marsh. Among her favorite things to do were studying her many Bibles and cooking delicious meals for family, church, and friends. She loved us with her food. One of the things she said very often was "We need to be like Jesus, and if you'll read your Bible it will tell you what to do." Until her illness she was very active in her church and often took care of her great-grandchildren. She loved to travel with family and friends, and was always such fun to be with. Thank You to Robin and Jean at Amedysis Hospice, Gary with Quality Nursing, Dr. Ross Kerns and staff, Dr. McDonald and staff at Thompson Cancer Survival Center and Parkwest Hospital staff, especially Heather in the CT department. These people went above their professional responsibilities and extended a level of care that exhibited love and concern for a sick person that they had only known since her illness, and we truly appreciate them. A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Mortuary with Pastor Dave Mason of Centerpointe Baptist Church, and Reverend Dale Walker officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Stevens Mortuary and go in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers: David Evans, Mike, Jeff, Wes, and Nathan Palmer, Jimbo and Jonathan Watson, and Hunter Large. Honorary Pallbearer, Chris Evans. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
