(December 24, 1952 - November 28, 2014) Christine O’Neil Talley, age 61, of Newport, departed this life to be in Heaven on, Friday, November 28, 2014. She was as a nurse at Valentine Shults Hospital, Tennova and nursing homes. She loved and enjoyed her job taking care of people. She was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Talley who died one year ago this day; parents, Jake and Rosetta O’Neil; sister, Mary Lance; and brother, Walter O’Neil. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Festus Talley; daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and Will Eck; special grandchildren who she loved dearly Gage and Keira Eck; mother, Sarah Conner, Salem, VA sisters, Shirley Anyerman of Colonial Beach, VA; Mary Jane Crawford, Kingston, TN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Joe Kesterson, of Midway, TN; Sharon and Dwight Wolfe of Thorn Hill, TN and Mollie Lovell of Bybee; mother-in-law, Viola Talley of Morristown, TN. She also leaves behind her church family at First Free Will Baptist Church, where she taught the ladies Sunday School Class; also several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Monday, December 1, 2014 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Davis and Eddie Young officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Stokely Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
