U.S. Veteran William Richard Schlosshan, Jr., age 60, of Maryville, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014, at his home. His family and friends knew him as “Dicky” or “Wild Man.” He served in the US Army Military Police Corps and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Marksman, and Pistol Expert. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. He was a loving and devoted father and husband. He was a member of Logan’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He and his father were known through the community as the “Small Engine Repair Team.” He was preceded in death by his son, Travis Richard Schlosshan; sister, Barbara Schlosshan; brother, Dennis Schlosshan; and mother, Alice Schlosshan. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sharon Schlosshan; children Rebecca, Matthew, Daniel, and Nickolas Schlosshan; grandchildren, Haley Teffeteller, Kayla Farmer, and William Noah Schlosshan; father, William Richard Schlosshan, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2014, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Doug Armstrong officiating. Family and friends will gather 11:00 AM Saturday at Tarklin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
